Capital Punishment

To me, it is simple: God gave this commandment to Noah when he came off the ark: When a man or beast sheds innocent blood, you are to kill that man or beast. That, as I understand things, is where all governments trace their roots. But we think we know better, and we think that - because there is the possibility of putting an innocent man to death by mistake (thinking he is guilty at the time), capital punishment should be scrapped. But the Bible has a solution to that problem: If false witnesses testify and cause any wrongful punishment to a man or woman, those false witnesses are to receive the same punishment. And if they caused an innocent man or woman to die, they must die.
